ROOFTOP BAR

A boutique rooftop venue in the heart of the Sydney CBD, this project transforms the roof of 283–285 Clarence Street into a two-level bar with indoor dining areas, a commercial kitchen, amenities and an open terrace. The design balances hospitality function with the constraints of a compact rooftop structure, integrating food and beverage service areas with circulation paths, seating zones and existing plant equipment.

The hydraulic systems were designed to support a fully operational bar and kitchen environment, including trade waste, hot and cold water services, gas, sanitary drainage and roof stormwater. Working within the limits of the existing building and CBD conditions, the drawings coordinated pipework routes, falls, fixtures and compliance requirements while maintaining clear access to plant and ensuring compatibility with architectural elements, fire systems and structural penetrations.

This outcome provides a functional, code-compliant hydraulic solution that enables efficient operation of the bar and seamless servicing of the rooftop space, delivered in accordance with the Building Code of Australia and the relevant Australian Standards governing plumbing and drainage.
