THE BONOBO
The Bonobo Lobby Bar and adjoining retail tenancy form part of a mixed-use development on Jonson Street in Byron Bay. The project reworks the ground level into a small hospitality venue supported by a retail frontage, requiring a coordinated approach to space planning, services integration, and operational functionality. The bar incorporates a central counter, commercial equipment, and joinery, while the retail tenancy benefits from shared infrastructure and a consistent services strategy.
Goldfish and Bay delivered the electrical services design across both areas, including a new distribution board, power reticulation for bar and retail equipment, lighting and emergency systems, fibre and Category 6a communications cabling, CCTV coverage, and access control. The design required close coordination with the architectural team to manage routing, penetrations, mounting heights, and the interface with existing building services. The outcome is a fully functional bar and retail environment supported by a compliant, maintainable, and integrated services framework.
