Last week, our engineering team joined a technical LUNCH & LEARN with FIREFLY AU, hosted by Shahid Malimar and Chris Gregory. The session focused on firestopping strategies that are not only certified, but workable in actual construction environments.

The team examined how FIREFLY’s systems are tested and assessed to meet AS1530.4:2014 and AS4072.1:2005 requirements, translating compliance into practical installation outcomes across walls, floors, and service penetrations.

We discussed how the FIREFLYBatt can be used to support the fire resistance of concrete elements, how the Multi-Service Block offers a simplified approach for SOU penetrations, and how the FIREFLY PFP app allows teams to easily reference thousands of compliant system configurations.

With FIREFLY products commonly seen across sites in Sydney and beyond, the session provided timely insights into systems many of our engineers frequently encounter in day-to-day project delivery.

Strong engagement from our teams made this session especially productive. These sessions are part of how we keep our specifications grounded in tested solutions, with buildability and sequencing in mind from the outset.

Thank you again to Shahid, Chris, and the FIREFLY AU team for an insightful and technically rich discussion.
