Yesterday evening, we attended the Melrose Park Community Cup Gala Dinner for the first time. The event has an established place in the local calendar, shaped by the contributions of residents, community groups, schools and sporting clubs who form the social life of Melrose Park. Being present in that room made it clear how deeply this gathering is valued by the people connected to the area.

Our support for the event sits alongside our ongoing relationship with Sekisui House Australia. Their involvement in Melrose Park has always extended beyond project delivery. They have taken a long-term approach to the area, investing time, consistency and presence. That commitment was evident throughout the night, not through announcements or statements, but in the familiarity between the people in the room.

For us, the night was about connection. It was meaningful to come across recognisable faces from across the industry and to share a conversation without agenda or performance. These relationships form gradually, across many settings, and last night was one of those moments where they felt steady and genuine.

The Community Cup supports a number of local organisations that contribute to daily life in Melrose Park. There is a sense of continuity to that support, and being part of the dinner provided a clear view of how collective effort can sustain a community over time
