Finding your path in engineering isn’t always a straight line. For many students, it starts with a conversation — a moment of insight, encouragement, or clarity that helps shape what comes next.

Last Friday, Goldfish & Bay joined the AIESEC Careers Fair at the University of Sydney to be part of those conversations. It was our first time attending, and it quickly became something more than a recruitment event, it became a chance to share, connect, and help students explore what’s possible.

The fair brought together students from a range of disciplines, many of whom were curious about how building services intersects with sustainability, design thinking, and real-world outcomes.

Leading these discussions was Monty Majeed, our Senior Electrical Engineer, whose calm energy and technical depth left a lasting impression. Students connected with his honest, thoughtful approach, and the way he made even complex ideas feel accessible and empowering.

Rebeka Zubac, who oversees marketing and communications at Goldfish & Bay, was also part of the team on the day. With a background in mechanical engineering, her path led into marketing and communications within the construction industry. Being at the fair was a reminder that some of the most meaningful careers are built by blending different disciplines — and that there’s real strength in following a path that’s uniquely your own.

We also invited attendees to register their Expression of Interest for future roles, whether internships, graduate programs, or just a future chat.

A heartfelt thank you to Jagriti ChauhanAIESEC Australia Ltd, and the University of Sydney for the opportunity.
