Today marks the beginning of Lunar New Year, a celebration centred on family, renewal and welcoming a fresh cycle ahead.

This year is especially significant. 2026 welcomes the Year of the Fire Horse, a rare combination in the Chinese zodiac that occurs only once every 60 years. The Horse traditionally represents movement, ambition and progress. Paired with the Fire element, it symbolises energy, transformation and the courage to move forward with purpose.

Across generations, Lunar New Year has been a time to clear away the old, gather with loved ones, and begin again with intention. From reunion dinners to red decorations that represent good fortune, the traditions reflect something universal: the hope for a strong and prosperous year ahead.

There’s a traditional saying often shared at this time of year:

"When the old is cleared away, the new arrives." 旧的不去,新的不来, a simple reminder of the fresh beginnings this season represents.

At Goldfish & Bay, we’re proud to celebrate this moment with our team and community, recognising the cultures that shape our workplaces and our cities.

May the Year of the Fire Horse bring momentum, growth and positive change.
