BILLABONG PARKLANDS

Arcadia Landscape Architecture

Campbelltown

The Campbelltown Billabong Parklands recently opened, marking a significant milestone for the Campbelltown community. Goldfish & Bay proudly led the hydraulic design, ensuring every water feature reflects innovation, sustainability, and efficient water management.

This four-hectare site includes a 1.1 million-litre artificial lagoon, children’s pool, and interactive splash play area, designed to echo the natural beauty of Dharawal National Park. Offering year-round appeal, the parklands transition from a tranquil retreat in cooler months to a lively aquatic precinct in summer, fostering community connection through play, learning, and social interaction.

Despite challenges, including the COVID pandemic, continuous rainfall, and complex geotechnical conditions, the project team delivered a space that promotes community and celebrates cultural heritage.

Funded by $31 million from the Western Sydney Liveability Program and an additional $3.6 million from the NSW Public Spaces Legacy Fund, the project reflects the dedication of Campbelltown City Council, AT&L, Landscape Solutions, and Arcadia Landscape Architecture.

Goldfish & Bay is proud to have played a role in creating this vibrant, sustainable, and community-focused destination.
