Goldfish & Bay | ESCAPE TO THE SNOW

A couple of Fridays ago, the afternoon looked a little different at Goldfish & Bay. Laptops closed, cars packed, ski gear somehow squeezed in, and Sydney disappearing behind us as we headed south for a weekend in the Snowy Mountains.
By the next morning, Thredbo was putting on a pretty convincing show. Blue skies, fresh mountain air and a crew with very different ideas about what made a successful day in the snow.
For some, it meant getting on the mountain early and fitting in as much skiing and snowboarding as possible, with varying levels of skill and self preservation. For others, it meant taking the slower route through the weekend: coffee, good food, wandering around the lake, spotting a few locals of the four legged variety and enjoying the scenery without ever needing a lift pass.
Eventually everyone found their way back together. Stories from the slopes were exchanged, food appeared, the fire was lit and the night stretched on with nowhere anyone particularly needed to be.
And somewhere between the road trip, chairlifts, sore legs, quiet mornings, après ski drinks and nights around the fire, work barely came up at all.
Maybe that is what made it so good. Safe to say, the office had some competition that weekend.
Already wondering where the Social Club takes us next. ❄️
