Upgrading a public school isn’t just about more classrooms. It’s about giving a growing community the infrastructure it needs to educate its future.
Goldfish & Bay is delivering the full hydraulic engineering design for the redevelopment of MELROSE PARK PUBLIC SCHOOL in Ermington, engaged by MOECO Plumbing Services as part of School Infrastructure NSW’s major expansion program.
Designed by PTW Architects and delivered under Taylor | Australia in design and construct delivery, our scope covers sanitary and trade waste systems, hot and cold water, gas, rainwater reuse, stormwater management and fire hydrant protection. All services have been modelled to LOD 350, meaning every pipe, valve and penetration is coordinated in 3D before construction. At this level of detail, clashes are resolved before they reach site, saving time, cost and disruption for every trade involved. It’s the kind of accuracy that only comes from a BIM-led approach, and one we’re increasingly being engaged for across education, housing and public infrastructure projects.
Construction is now underway. When complete, the new campus will accommodate more than 750 primary students and a 60-place preschool across a network of three-storey teaching buildings, specialist support units, hall, library, administration facilities and landscaped outdoor spaces.
Designing systems that most people will never see is often the point. If we’ve done our job well, the only thing students will notice is how smoothly their school works.
