LUNCH & LEARN | Lighting Systems with Zumtobel Group

Our electrical team recently joined a technical Lunch & Learn session hosted by Zumtobel Group, led by Dylan Pillay, exploring high bay lighting systems and the TECTON II product range.

A key discussion focused on the selection of high bay luminaires for different applications. Dylan explained that Zumtobel provides a design guide that allows consultants to quickly select suitable fittings based on mounting height and lumen requirements, without needing to run detailed lighting calculations during the early stages of design.

This can be particularly useful during concept design, helping engineers identify appropriate solutions before moving into full lighting modelling.

The session also explored several high bay solutions across the Zumtobel portfolio and their application across warehouses, logistics facilities and other large industrial environments.

Our team has also applied the TECTON II system in practice. On one project the architect was aiming for a single continuous line of lighting in the basement, rather than multiple smaller battens. TECTON II allowed us to achieve that outcome while maintaining flexibility in the lighting layout and installation.
