MEET THE TEAM | Some engineers take the traditional path. Others pave their own.

For stephanie barakat, the road to hydraulic design began on construction sites across the Middle East. A trained civil engineer with hands-on experience as a site supervisor and project manager, Stephanie built her career in the field before shifting into building services design. In 2023, she joined the Goldfish & Bay team in Lebanon, drawn by the complexity of the projects and the kindness of the people behind them.

Now a Hydraulic Engineer at Goldfish & Bay, Stephanie works in close coordination with Sydney-based engineer Taylor Peng. Together, they manage the demands of detailed design documentation across time zones. From Revit and Navisworks to Digiteck and Revizto, Stephany has quickly mastered the tools that drive our hydraulic systems, and she is generous in sharing that knowledge with others.

Her day might begin with a morning briefing and end with a detailed handover to Taylor, but what drives her is the culture of collaboration and mutual respect. "It feels like you’re part of something bigger. Everyone brings their own strengths, and we genuinely support each other." she says.

That mindset, combined with her punctuality and sharp attention to detail, makes Stephany an essential part of the team. Whether she is finalising layouts days ahead of schedule or supporting new starters through complex software, she brings a quiet confidence and a spirit of growth. She reminds us that learning something new is not always comfortable, and that is exactly where progress begins.
