Last week we hosted NAFFCO for a Lunch and Learn that brought together our hydraulic, fire, and mechanical teams. What could have been a straightforward technical briefing turned into an open conversation about safety, innovation, and the systems that underpin so much of the built environment we work in every day.

NAFFCO’s story is remarkable. Founded in Dubai in 1991, the company has grown into one of the most recognised names in fire protection and life safety worldwide. With more than 15,000 people and operations in over 100 countries, they design and manufacture everything from fire pumps and smoke management systems to extinguishers, foam suppression, detection technologies, and specialist vehicles such as fire trucks and ambulances. Everything is backed by international certification and compliance with Australian Standards, which means their work intersects with ours across many projects.

The session gave us the chance to see how that global scale translates into practice. We heard how NAFFCO approaches design and certification, how robotics and AI are now part of their manufacturing processes, and how their solutions are applied across healthcare, education, government, oil and gas, and commercial sectors. It was an opportunity to go deeper into not just what they do, but how those systems are tested, refined, and brought into service.

Credit goes to Alex Ahmad Chlone, who led the session with both expertise and enthusiasm, making complex systems easy to understand and sparking questions from every discipline in the room. Thanks also to Mohd Rasikh Misbah for his support and insights. The level of engagement showed how valuable it is to step back from day-to-day work and take the time to learn from industry leaders.

We’re grateful to NAFFCO GROUP for sharing their knowledge with us. Sessions like this are a reminder of why it matters to keep asking questions, keep learning, and keep building connections with the innovators who are raising the bar for safety in our industry.

🎥 Instead of a photo, this time we’re sharing one of NAFFCO’s video. It captures their story and capabilities, and complements the themes we explored during the session, a small way of bringing others into the room with us.
