The visit gave the team a detailed look into the manufacturing, testing, assembly, and deployment of high current busway infrastructure used across commercial, industrial, infrastructure, data centre, and high rise developments.

Discussions covered fault ratings, voltage drop performance, modular riser configurations, take off systems, future expansion capability, and the growing role busduct solutions are playing across large scale electrical distribution networks.

A major focus of the session was the increasing shift toward modular busduct distribution as projects face rising labour costs, tighter construction programmes, and increasing coordination complexity across large scale developments.

Compared to conventional cable and cable tray arrangements, busduct systems use prefabricated modular sections that can be assembled rapidly on site, reducing labour intensity, handling complexity, programme pressure, and disruption during future modifications or extensions.

The discussion also highlighted how electrical distribution strategy is evolving across high rise and major infrastructure projects, where speed of delivery, spatial efficiency, accessibility, and long term adaptability are becoming increasingly important considerations during design and construction.

Seeing the manufacturing and testing process firsthand provided valuable insight into the level of engineering, quality control, and technical precision required behind large scale power distribution infrastructure.

Thank you to Josh Allen, Christopher Vass, and the wider Vass Electrical Industries team for the presentation, technical discussion, and hospitality.
